Pathways for Faculty Resolutions

Often, if you have a concern that is not specifically related to harassment or discrimination, you should reach out to your Chairperson or Director, who can assist you in resolving your concern or refer you to a campus resource who can assist in resolution. If you are uncomfortable bringing a concern to your department Chair or need further resolution, you should reach out to your Dean.

Your unit should have its own grievance process, but all fall under the University Senate Rules and Regulations (USSR) Article V., Section 2. Unit Level Grievance Procedures policy

Accessible KU is committed to providing equal access for individuals with disability to the academic, social, cultural, and employment opportunities available at KU. If you notice or experience any type of accesibility barrier on campus, please report it at this link

Unit heads and others who serve in leadership roles in the university are responsible for nondiscrimination in their employment and academic environment. Employees at the University of Kansas are required to contact the Office of Civil Rights & Title IX at 785-864-6414 or civilrights@ku.edu to report incidents of discrimination and sexual harassment, including sexual violence, of which they know or have reason to believe may have occurred. See the full discrimination complaint resolution process policy at this link.

The University of Kansas recognizes its obligation to employees and constituents to maintain the highest ethical standards. The University has established a hotline, administered by Lighthouse, to facilitate anonymous reporting of suspected violation of laws, policies or standards in a manner that facilitates resolution and assures non-retaliation.

If your concern does not fall into any of the above categories, you can always email the Office of Faculty Affairs at facultyaffairs@ku.edu and Human Resources at hrdept@ku.edu. Our offices will work together to support you through a resolution.
