Travel Reimbursement for Faculty Recognition & Awards for Research
The Office of Faculty Affairs supports faculty who are newly elected members/fellows of national organizations designated as prestigious or highly prestigious by offering travel funds for related induction ceremonies.
Eligibility and Requirements:
- Travel relates to induction ceremonies for newly elected members/fellows of national organizations designated as prestigious or highly prestigious.
- Approved funds are intended for the partial reimbursement of total travel expenses; faculty are encouraged to seek additional funding from other sources (i.e., schools, departments, Office of Research, grants).
- Travel must be consistent with the requirements of KU Travel Services; however, booking directly with a conference hotel is permitted.
- Inquiries regarding availability of travel expense funds should be submitted to the Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) at least two weeks prior to commencement of travel.
- Receipts for travel expenses must be provided to the OFA within 14 days of completion of travel.
- Faculty members are limited to reimbursement for one faculty recognition travel event per fiscal year.
- Reimbursement funds may be up to $750 or 50% of total, whichever is less.
- Reimbursements are made on a first-come, first-served basis as designated funds remain available.
