Alcides Velasquez

Alcides Velasquez (Ph.D., Michigan State University) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Studies. His research focuses on (1) the social and political uses of social media and (2) how access to and use of new communication technologies can become either a new source of inequality, or a helpful tool to reduce the existing disparities in contemporary societies.
