Faculty Performance Improvement Plan Template
This Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) is designed to facilitate constructive discussion between a faculty member and their Chair/Dean to clearly document work performance that is not meeting expectations and to clarify needed improvements to meet expectations. Sections within the POP template are intended to help the Chair/Dean clearly outline: (1) the unit’s expectations for faculty in the identified area(s) targeted for improvement, (2) the faculty member’s current status of performance in the identified area(s), (3) specific expectations for performance improvement during the plan period, (4) supports and resources available to assist in meeting performance goals, and (5) the possible outcomes at the end of the Performance Improvement Plan period.
